Ph D in Sociology
The starting point for my research interest is human beings and how they interact with their surroundings. Attitudes and behaviors are important concepts. This means that my research deals with how people with different conditions perceive and act in relation to different societal problems, what opportunities and difficulties they see and how they handle these.
The research is largely based on the reasoning they themselves give about their situation.
My research has moved from ecological housing, travel habits and wind power to coastal fishing. The starting point has always been to understand and find solutions to societal problems by going behind the structures and analyzing why they arise and are maintained.
I have studied the interaction between society's institutions and citizens' attitudes, behavior and opportunities for influence. The research has primarily been focused on producing policy-relevant knowledge.
